Current Events and Items of Interest

RECENT NEWS & ACCOMPLISHMENTS: 

At the present time, Elk River-Rogers VFW Post 5518 and its Ladies Auxiliary has adopted three (3) Military Units under the VFW's Adopt-A-Unit Program.  Two of these Units are stationed in Iraq and one is in Afganistan.  Additionally, we are helping another VFW Post with a National Guard Unit which has deployed to Iraq.
As part of these National Guard Deployments to Iraq, Kosovo, Bosnia and other 'Hot Spots', the Post has signed up seventy-four (74) New Members.
If you have a member of your family or know someone that is being deployed from the Elk River Area, please contact our Post.  We are willing to help with Operation Uplink Phone Cards, Care packages, Family Support and more!!!

Husband and Wife Served in Iraq

  Recently two of our members served in Iraq with the U.S. Marine Corps.  Tom and Tillery Hornstein (yes they are husband and wife).  Tom is the Grandson of Earl and Florence Greer, long time members of our Post and Auxiliary.  Tom and Tillery are both in the Marine Corps.  Last we heard, they were enjoying a 'postponed' Honeymoon.
